How to help

Below is a summary of how we can help, from this side of the fence. Thanks, Gilberto, for passing on the message.

Many of you are asking how you can help...here are a few good links sent on (thanks Munir for your endless work) from working on media efforts, contacting politicians, or donating money/stuff...
http://www.saveleb.org/ (comprehensive site, with information about donations, and also other actions you can do to help - contact politicians, UN, etc...)

http://www.relieflebanon.org/https://give.aub.edu/ (AUB Hospital, one of the main in Beirut, has set up a fund to help support medical care, etc during the conflict)

http://mowatinun.blogspot.com/ (this is an effort by a bunch of friends of mine in Beirut... trying to do good stuff, and trying to reach out to people who haven't, or in ways that haven't, been addressed by other aid efforts. They are very good people).

To see just how comprehensively Lebanon is being destroyed, a friend is continually working on mapping the attacks: 'dear friends, for the past 4 days, a number of people and myself have been working on putting together a map of Lebanon that shows the scale of theIsraeli attack. It is a work in immediate progress: other than the daily updates, we hope to include the (missing) first three days, add an infrastructure reading and have it downlaodable as a pdf for detailed viewing. Well, we needed the image/message to get through to as many as fast as possible. This is our humble and quick attempt under such circumstances for now. It is on http://lebanonupdates.blogspot.com check it out and pass it on ahmad.
For a very different sort of blog - more art than words, see: http://mazenkerblog.blogspot.com/ "When one Israeli soldier is kidnapped, the whole world goes crazy, but Israel kidnapped a whole nation" - http://news.bbc.co.uk/

In Spain, we have this RESCATE action which is collecting donations (basically food, medicines and blankets) and asking for financial contributions, as you can read below, from Smriti Belbase(in Spanish).
